Fire Pit & Fireplace Accent Lighting

Fire features already create their own atmosphere. The job of accent lighting around them is to complement that warmth, extend the usable perimeter of the space, and handle the areas the fire itself cannot reach.

One operator. Same person designs, installs, and maintains your system. Not a subcontractor.

Custom design. Every plan is sketched on-site for your specific property.

Clean installs. Buried cable, hidden transformers, no exposed wiring.

What's Included

  • Seating wall cap and coping accent lighting
  • Perimeter path and step lighting
  • Fire surround and boulder accent

What It Costs

Fire feature accent only (4–6 fixtures)$600–$1,500
Seating area + perimeter (8–14 fixtures)$1,500–$3,200
Full fire environment with landscape integration (15+)$3,200–$5,800+

Includes all fixtures, cable burial, and installation. Smart zone add-on: $150–$350.

How It Works

  1. Site walkthrough at dusk — we evaluate the fire feature, seating layout, and surrounding landscape to understand what the fire illuminates and what it leaves in shadow.
  2. Complementary plan — lighting around a fire feature should add to the mood, not fight it. We focus on the perimeter, seating walls, and paths, keeping fixtures out of direct sightlines from seated positions.
  3. Warm-tone aiming — we default to 2700K warm white around fire features because it reads naturally in the same color temperature range as firelight. Cooler tones look clinical next to flame.

Built for Florida Fire Feature Environments

Central Florida's climate makes outdoor fire features comfortable for a longer portion of the year than most markets — from October through April especially. Accent lighting around those features needs to handle Florida's UV and humidity year-round even if the fire is only used seasonally. We keep fixtures away from direct heat exposure, position cable runs clear of any gas line pathways, and use heat-rated wire sleeving in any runs that pass within 18 inches of a heat source.

Frequently Asked Questions

How close to the fire pit can fixtures be placed?
We keep fixtures at least 3 feet from any fire source and further from high-heat propane or natural gas features. The goal is accent lighting at the perimeter and seating area, not illumination of the fire itself.
What color temperature works best near a fire?
2700K warm white is standard. It reads naturally in the same visual range as firelight and does not create a jarring color contrast the way 3000K or 4000K would.
Can you integrate fire pit accent lighting with my existing landscape system?
In most cases yes. We assess your existing transformer capacity and add a fire area zone if there is available load. If not, a small secondary transformer handles the fire pit zone independently.
Do the lights need to be off when the fire is on?
That is a personal preference. Many homeowners prefer to dim the accent lighting when the fire is active and bring it back up after the fire dies down. Zone control makes this easy.
Can you light the seating walls themselves?
Yes — recessed cap lights and surface-mount step lights in seating walls are one of the cleanest fire pit accent approaches. They provide usable light at the seating height without any visible fixture in the sightline.
How do I keep path lights from pointing at seated guests?
We aim path lights downward and away from seating orientations during the nighttime aiming session. Shield selection and beam angle both matter — we spec fixtures with appropriate beam spread for the application.
