  1. Layout planning — we map the span distances, attachment points, and catenary angles so the lights hang correctly without sagging or pulling under Florida wind.
  2. Structural review — pergola beams, house eaves, and freestanding posts all have different load requirements. We assess and reinforce attachment points if needed before installation.
  3. Electrical connection and smart setup — we connect to a dedicated circuit or low-voltage outlet and configure smart dimming if requested.

What is the difference between your string lights and what I'd find at a hardware store?
Commercial-grade string lights use heavy-gauge cable with UV-stabilized insulation, rated connectors, and IP65 LED bulbs. Hardware-store sets use lighter wire with standard insulation that degrades quickly in Florida's UV environment. The commercial system typically lasts 10+ years; the hardware-store version often fails in 1–3.
Can you install string lights on my existing pergola?
In most cases yes. We assess the pergola structure for appropriate attachment points and load capacity. We also ensure the electrical connection is properly protected from weather at the connection point.
Do string lights require a dedicated circuit?
A dedicated outdoor outlet with GFCI protection is recommended. We can run a low-voltage system from a transformer that does not require a dedicated circuit, but the performance and dimming options are better with proper electrical service.
Can string lights be dimmed?
Yes. We can integrate commercial string lights with smart dimmers, including app control and scene programming. A "dinner ambiance" scene at 40% output looks very different from a "party mode" at 100%.
What happens in a storm — do I need to take them down?
Commercial-grade string lights with proper tension and anchor points do not need to come down for typical Florida storms. For major hurricane events, we recommend removing any large-span systems. We install anchors that allow for quick disassembly if needed.
What does a typical timeline look like from estimate to installation?
Site visit to estimate takes 1–3 business days. Scheduling for installation is typically 2–3 weeks out depending on season. The actual installation for a standard patio span is usually a half-day to full-day job.
